Choices for 8 strings?

So other than the Ibanez 8 (which I wasn't too impressed with) and the ESP (which I haven't played yet, but would like to), what choices are there?

I've had my eye on a Conklin 8 for a long time, just haven't taken the plunge. :o

Post up ideas/recommendations and pics please.

The Halo Octavia is another option:

NGD of epic proportions (56K generic joke)

As is a full custom, in which case, the sky is the limit. (Mike Sherman, Shamray, etc.)

If and when the Agile/Rondo/Brice is available that'll be a real contender for best price vs. quality buy.

Those Halo's look pretty nice, the body is oddly remiscent of a Rickenbacher kind of in shape.

The Roter's are a little crazy for me. :o

Roter is a custom shop, if you want an 8-string RG they'll make it, If you want a neon pink randy Rhodes 10-string with a rubber dildo, they'll make it.

one of my friends got custom Conklin 8 string which is so beautiful, incredable sounding machine with fanned frets(25.5~28" or something like that). i tested that conklin with my diezel, it sounded amazing. playability, looks, everything was just amazing, including its price. after my friend told me the price, i'd thought that i would rather buy a car.

between ESP and Ibanez, i'd go for Ibanez simply i prefer ibanez's neck.

i'm not sure,but i remember his(my friend) axe was around $9k or more.

Shouldn't be that much. I got a firm quote from Bill Conklin for an 8 with some pretty exotic woods, custom pickups, midi controller, etc. and it was under $6k.

Not that I don't have a guitar worth more than $9k.
