I saw it this morning, and melted. It's by erikbojerik of projectguitar, and it was the winning submission for GotM for January.

Theme: I chose two main woods that, in color, are negatives of each other, Black Limba (light with dark streaks) and Macassar Ebony (dark with light streaks). The theme of the instrument is black limba underneath ebony, with birdseye maple appointments on top. The wood choice is along the same concept as the maple-on-mahogany of a trad LP, but obviously in a slightly different direction. The body is an original design with elements borrowed from Taylor acoustics (upper bout), Ritter basses (incut waist), Jazz basses (slightly asymmetric lower bout), and obviously Gibson (single cut shape with Florentine cutaway a'la ES225).

I really like the guitar, the woods match each other good and it has a fresh look to it. I've been thinking about side mounted controls for a while but I want them on the other side of the guitar, but I really like how he has made a little pocket for them. The headstock looks a little big for the neck, but that's a personal taste not a professional opinion.

This is great design woods are incredible nice looking. Only one thing I'm worried about is the bridge - it looks nice etc, but intonation can be a problem with so short screws imo. There's almost no place to do that.
