RG2228 lundgren quick sound sample

Got the lundgrens in my rg today. I did a quick hard pan left/right of one of my grind bands songs with dkfh. no bass or vox. no real mixing just a super fast sample for now. I expect zimbloth to message me to tell me some good hints on recording because i know he has good ideas.

I used a firebox and a rocktron prophesy to direct record this.

click on glass casket, the 8 string groove is old and crappy.

That glass casket song is sick .I have the prophesy and love the thing.I have also been looking to buy the drumkit from hell program,What do you think about it???

dkfh is fine. it takes a long time to figure out how to use properly. I'm certainly not there yet but i like it.

I like it. But i'm on a friend's house and his audio system sucks.

This sounds friggin AWESOME, those pickups and that guitar truly sound great. It fuels my 8 string GAS even more and reminds me that I need to get dkfh!!

However I want to see this bad boy with those lundgrens
and so therefore

Way too much bass and not enough mids or bite. It's really to hard to hear anything that's going on in the lower register. I know web clips mean nothing, but the EMG 808s sounded better than this to my memory. But again, nothing sounds good direct recorded so its impossible to say.

Isn't there a band called Glass Casket? They're pretty good IIRC. The guitars sounded kind of muddy and sludgy, but neat riffs!

true, i've been trying to eq it a little better, the pickups are really low too so i'm not getting the sound i want yet.

Maybe the EMG's sounded more articulate, and more bite. I'm personally holding out for 8 string blackouts ^_^
