![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Finally got to try the Ibby RG 2228 and i want one! Yeah so my store had one and i got to try it out, the scale is very manageable and it sounds so good as a 7 string that my guitarist Alex is thinking of picking up one to use as his main 7 (and 8 stringer when we start playing those songs!) The low string was a bit loose, but i think a slightly higher gauge would make it perfect! The neck was wonderfully smooth like i like, the guitar is the way ibanez should be making all of their guitars (seems like prestige is really the only way to go with ibby these days...) But yeah the one thing that REALLY sold me on this guitar is that fixed edge bridge, man i wish i could get this on all of my guitars! Locking nut hardtail with fine tuners! Its going to stay in tune forever, and i thought the emg808's sounded great (i have always liked they way the 707s sound in basswood so that explains that) So as far as a practical 8 string for the stage, im totally sold! Sell me your RG8 if you are trying to get rid of it!!! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Sounds very cool. Too bad it's not in my price range. New wish for NAMM: Prestige RG7 that is basically a 7 string clone of the 2228. ![]() Schecter Loomis-7 TOM |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I was definitely impressed with the playability of the 2228's neck, and i thought the 808s sounded pretty phenomenal, and i've never played active pickups before. This space intentionally left blank. |
