8,9,10 string pickups

Hallo.
So it's me again, but this time with very good idea I think
As you know I have business partnership with Adam Tylski - Roter Custom Guitars Roter Custom Guitars - the man who buid my 9 strings. We also doing business with Merlin Pickups Merlin Pickups - guitar and bass pickups and we adding their pickups to all our standard and custom guitars as standard pickups.

We were speaking with Merlin about "mass production" pickups for 8, 9 and 10 string guitars. So we are going to build a pickup with with standard size, which can be used with all 8,9 and 10 string guitars, no matter what width at the bridge up to 100mm, so it can be used with all bridges - hardtail or floating Kahlers.

This pickup will be avaliable only thru Roter Custom Guitars, because we have that agreement with Merlin, they are going to build pickup with cooperation with us, because we will building wood covers for them. Covers will be made from "standard wood" as maple, ash, mahogany etc. or wenge. We were thinking about ebony covers and those could be to expensive, so we will have them for special orders. As special order we will have other wood avaliable as covers.

Avaliable pickups:

STANDARD
1. Merlin Hellfire Bridge and Neck
2. Merlin Legend Alnico Neck
3. Merlin Legend Alnico Bridge
4. Merlin Legend Ceramic Neck
5. Merlin Legend Ceramic Bridge

CUSTOM
1. ANY CUSTOM ORDER YOU DESIRE

PRICES:
We want them to be as cheap as possible, so we're thinking that pickup will cost not more than 130$ plus shipping, maybe less. Custom orders will cost the same, because every pickup is "hand made", so no matter what you ordering, this pickup will be only for a customer, so we can add some little changes in final tone etc. More only if you will order some extreme custom cover.

So what do you think about it??
At ss.org are few guitar builders, so what do you think, is there any possibility to cooperation, it could be nice to know.
We can start making those pickups next month.

Yes, but as I said maybe less
With this pickup you have wood cover and absolutely custom construction. We have to make the price standard, because this pickups will be for 8 - 10 string guitars, so you have to think about it as 10 string pickup.

No problem, but those pickups will be big as EMG45DC to cover string spacing from 8 string up.

Isn't an EMG40 casing enough? or do you mean you are making pickups that'll fit bot 8,9 and 10 strings?

Edit: I hadn't read enough of the description, my bad, EMG45 on an 8 string is going to look too big IMO. But it's still an alternative to other brand.

You should consider having a standard plastic cover made to cut the cost even more.

Why should they automatically be less/equal to EMG's pricing? These are handmade and an entirely different product. This is why small manufacturers always have a tough time compared to very large ones- people want to pay the same price for higher quality, which is completely unfair and IMO BS.

$130 is a really good price.

Thanks, but as you know if small company want to "fight" with big one, we have to have as low prices as possible, but might be 100$ is impossible for us, because of aditional wood work with covers etc.
That's why we can't have pickups for 8, 9 and 10 strings, we have to have one for every. And it won't be too big for an 8 string.
