I think I may have already posted about this guitar, but I have to say again how cool and amazing I think this is. What a great thing to make your own guitar! And an extended (very) range one at that. I love it.

Adam took advantage of the SS.org introductory offer that expired in April.
A neck like this is normally $600.

For me, the aesthetics of an instrument aren't about making it "pretty" but are more related to careful thought and planning for its functionality (which obviously you did) and having a sense of care, patience and craftsmanship in execution (which obviously you did not).

I don't want to step into a personal debate, but i do agree with a lot of points that Angus made. (Though not necessarily with how he made them.) This isn't a personal attack, it's just pointing out the reality.

"I'm not a luthier and don't aspire to be," just strikes me as an excuse you're making for rushing things through to completion instead of choosing to taking the time and learn how to do things with a higher degree of craftsmanship. You rushed and it shows.

I believe that the only way to do things is the right way. Yes, we'll all make mistakes along the way, but you should at least try. But i can appreciate that some people don't share this work ethic, or have the patience to follow through on their ideas in a methodical way.

But as long as you're happy with the final result, i congratulate you. Hopefully you learned a lot from the experience and will do better next time.

This space intentionally left blank.

To be honest, I`m not really jumping up and down with the way Adam did certain things as it is my neck and headstock shape on that guitar.
I do agree with Angus`s previous post that I`m concerned that people will identify the headstock as a Sherman and think I built the whole guitar.

This has prompted me to no longer supply necks to customers with my headstock shape. I will only supply necks with a blank "paddle" headstock and the customer can cut his/her own headstock shape.

Damn, there goes an idea I had

Hmmm would you be willing to consider a modified version of your headstock so it doesn't have the exact Sherman shape?
