Help restringing an ibanez rg2228 - fixed edge III-8 bridge - rg2228 owners?

I read the manual : www.ibanez.co.jp/world/manual/english/3.pdf

The current setup (action and intonation) is fine. Now Ive never restrung anything other than a regular hardtail/non double locking trem/bridge.

1) can i restring this without having to mess with the saddles or bridge? i dont mean like minor adjustments with the allen key, i mean like will it get unparallel to the body?

2) im using 10-13-17-30-42-52-64-74, which is unbalanced tension, should i expect anything to happen? worst case scenario, the bridge popping out of the body lol

any advice, tips, links, vids, tutorials, especially specifically for the edge iii-8 would be great, and any rg2228 owners plz lemme know if uve done a full restring without a setup

thanks

It's exactly like a trem, but minus the headache.. Intonation on the saddles must be done
cause if you're changing gauge it should be different than before..

Its a fixed bridge so apart from cutting th ball ends off (unless you string backwards) you dont have to do anything other than take off the old and pop on the new.

If your changing to a different string guage than what was on there before than you will have to adjust the intonation but its very simple to do with a fixed bridge.
Just dont overtighten things when your done.
Also if you take off all the strings at the same time it might rattle a bit, dont worry thats normal.
Exp - Ihave an rg2228 + other trem guitars so yeah, youll be fine.
--on another note the bridge tearout was on some of the first run of the 2228's
and then some batches of RGA's.

and to your first Q its piss easy to adjust the height of the bridge same as any other trem'd guitar just dont forget the bolt at the back, peeps do and thats typically when tearout happens (think of it like the springs in a floating trem - they can stretech, the bolt cant.....ping!) ^^

Or course you can expect it to be very tight & crisp but hard to play. Keep the .074 for the F# and then use a .008, .011, .014, .022, .030, .038, .054 for a much more pleasant experience.

@zeaoth I just shoved the damn p/u into the cavity. I forced that shit. It works.

@DTo8 Does every 8strings buzzes on the low strings?

@MatthewLeisher I'd take a dump on a 6505 if the Axe FX asked me to.

eric, where do you cut? do you cut the ball end and put thru the saddle with the tapered end in the tuning peg, or do you cut the tapered end and put it in the saddle with the ball in the tuning peg? u know what i mean, like some people string floyds with the ball end in the peg....and ur right about the guages, called ibanez and they said thats the max tension u should try

i restrung my 2228 not long ago, i cut off just before the loop back from the ball end stops. make sure you remove any loose fragments of metal after cutting.
