NGD: Custom Agile Septor Elite

Hey all, my guitar finally came in, two months early actually! I love it so far. I'm considering swapping out the EMGs for some type of passives at some point though. Overall the finish is beautiful, plays like a dream, good profile neck, and can also be used as a spear, what else could I ask for? The specs on this one are: 30" scale, ebony neck, oceanburst flame, emgs, 8-string (duh). I know a lot of people ask between 28" and 30" the differences, and I've owned a 28", I love how the 30" holds the notes much better and clearer. It doesn't feel 'wobbly' like my 28 did. Enjoy the porn!

The BOX!

The DOG! Preparing for glory.

The case and close inspection from other dog

The guitar!

He approves

Upload them to photobucket (or some other image hosting site of your choice), then use img tags.

Example: This - [ IMG]http://i785.photobucket.com/albums/y...spman/5057.jpg[ /IMG]

minus the spaces equals this -

.backwards sentences say to used I .again go I there !shit Oh.

The Dog on the steps looks sad because he/she knows that a new guitar means you won't love him/her anymore...

lol thanks, yeah she hasn't been fed, looked at, touched or walked in about 24 hours due to this guitar (just kidding don't call animal cruelty places). I'm loving the guitar so far, haven't found anything I dislike about it.

How necessary is it to change out the pots when switching to passives?

I love the way that looks! I think the oceanburst flame is my favorite Agile color . Also big props on the 30" scale, you've got the perfect Agile.

You got a semi-custom with actives to replace them for passives? Why not just get it with passives that way you don't have the gaps from the active routes?

I'm just saying it would have been a better idea to get the passives and not have to go through the trouble, ya know?

Yeah I know what you mean, I'm thinking I might be able to get a little cash for the EMGs too if I do decide to go that route, so far I'm really enjoying it. I'm going to have to hear some more audio samples with other pickups before I make any decisions.

By the way anyone who is curious, going from a 25.5 scale on most of my guitars to this, ISN'T HARD AT ALL!!! After playing for about 2 hours it felt pretty natural. I have tiny hands too

Wow, ....ing nice man! I'm still waiting on my custom Septor to get in, it's supposed to be in Wednesday but I'm hoping it'll be a bit early.

That's what I was wondering. I just got the cheap as .... Cepheus passives, so I can change them out for Aftermaths hassle-free.

I actually think that BKPs are still a little large for agile routes when it comes to depth. You might have to chisel out some of the route. I could be mistaken, though.

It's necessary. Right now you've probably got 25k pots in there. The typically accepted "standard" pot value for passive pups is 500k. Of course, you can perform some more research to determine if you'd benefit from pots with different values, but 500k seems to be standard.

This is, of course, assuming you're going to be doing all that work to make the conversion.
