Pretty crazy custom late-NGD!
Here's something new for you fellas! My custom 8 string guitar made by Steve Wishnevsky! AS you can see this is a weird guitar, lets get on to the specs.
-Ambrosia maple/ I dont remember, maybe mahogany/walnut? top. -Mahogany/walnut? back -Purpleheart fretboard - thru-neck -NO truss rod ( i know, crazy!) -26 frets And now its picture time ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() There was a bit of work that had to be done with this guitar. When I got it, it was very rough to the touch, as he isnt very into the cosmetics of luthiery. There was a coat of shellac, and I used a very fine sanding sponge, to make it smooth. I put a coat of tung oil on the board just this morning, for UV protection and all. Also, it seems the holes for the control plate were too big for the screws, so they just fall out. Right now, i'm just holding it on with tape. As far as the sound goes, I can tell it has alot of potential. all it needs is a pickup swap, and I can see this thing being a beast. I had to cannibalize a string off my bass, but after that, the 8th string is really nice and tight! ( perverts) |

It's certainly pretty, except for that headstock.
I'd be extremely curious what type of reinforcing is being used to avoid having a truss rod. Happy NGD. |

I dunno if I'd trust Wish to do anything more complex than a four-string fretless. And even then...

Let me get this straight.
You paid for a custom guitar. When it arrived, you had to do additional work on it, the cover is held on with tape, that headstock Hole is cut off center, and the string spacing is wrong? ..Why? |

Thats what I mean man! I never expected perfection with this, because I knew I wouldn't get it. Idk, doing all the little adjustments and stuff is learning for me. I aspire to be a luthier one day, so this is all practice.
I only paid $400 for it, so considering that, I'm getting a pretty kickin' guitar I think. |

I like it a lot. Happy NGD for a very unique guitar man. I'd like to see a video of it in action.

I have a profile there, but I've stopped using it after some moderator banned me for something I didn't do. I've found SS.org to be a much more mature forum, and also a lot of the artists I follow comes here and post stuff, like Periphery, Vildhjarta etc. ontopic: Gratz dude! Crazy looking little thing!

That potential was lost as soon as Steve Wishnevsky picked out the lumber.
![]() Sorry, had to. I also saw you get blasted on UG, and I agree that UG is full of immature and/or mentally slow individuals, but I have to say this just seems terrible. I mean, from my (very inexperienced luthiery) point of view, you paid $400 for a few random pieces of wood that were sandwiched together, rough carved into something resembling a guitar, had some cheap hardware thrown on it, had a nut that may as well have been filed and cut by an untrained monkey, and a pickup thrown right in the middle- the "no-no" zone as some people may call it. The lack of truss rod with a neck-through guitar just seems like a recipe for disaster, too. As soon as that neck warps... ![]() I would have to deem this a bad investment. But again, that's just how I see it. If you're happy with it, that's all that matters. I will hand it to you, it is very unique. I expect some clips soon!

I would but in a second pickup if I was you but in the neck position. I like the bridge, is it plastic? if so get some bone instead.
