Agile Intrepid Dual PICKUP REPLACEMENT!

hey guys... i have been playing on these Cepheus pickups since December 3rd (about two months) and im not so sure i like these pickups.... they sound great clean but just awful with distortion... has anyone replaced these before? and with what? if not what do you guys suggest... i dont want to do to much modding to the body.. if any at all.

also its been running through a line 6 spider 2 head and cab... maybe this has a bit to do with it but yea.. my 7 string sounds good tho (well as good as its gonna get on this amp i guess).... also maybe i should add that as soon as i have the money to this will be replaced with an axe-fx ultra and and orange 4x12 and not sure what power amp yet.

my tuning F# standard. and the default agile string gauges..... eh..

thatīs me and my intrepid (which i sold just a few days ago). i replaced the bridge pickup to a BKP Painkiller. really nice pickup, but if i could choose again i would try a cold sweat. the painkiller sounded awesome though. very tight and aggressive. very metal.

There is the possibility that Q-Tuners will make a drop-in replacement for the Cepheus pickup. Here's the thread:

MF Kitten, since you just sold your 830, does that mean you no longer have an Intrepid into which to drop the Q-Tuners?

i liked the neck pickup enough to not change it right away, but had the q-tuner 8 string pickup thing worked out in time, i wouldīve bought one and put it in there.

iīm no longer on the list for an 8 string q tuner myself anymore, since i donīt have a need for one at the moment, and couldnīt afford it if i had needed one. i have two q-tuners in a 5 string bass that i am removing, and one of them is going to be put in my upcoming roter 8 string, neck position. i wouldīve gone for an 8 string sized one, but i already have these, and they do the same thing, so iīd rather not waste money on a different sized one "just because"

the whole 8 string q-tuner thing never really worked out, although it can still work if people just place orders. i kinda figured it would go fairly fast, seeing as everyone and their mothers wanted to try one out earlier, but then when the oppurtunity came, it just sorta ended up as a mildly sour fart in a big pillow. i think thereīs like 1 or 2 people on the buying list now, unless some more have written themselves up on it recently (talking about the list that the Q-tuner folks are keeping at the moment, not the list started in the thread)
