Our drummer has a couple Axis pedals and he loves them because of the direct drive, many drummers hate them for the same reasons.

Pretty much it's a iloveaxis/iloveironcobra split.

Yeah but the VDL all the way back kills the pedal and makes it really "icky" feeling...

Thanks guys. I appreciate the advice. I'm heading out tomorrow to check some out and hopefully make them an addition to the kit.
