![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Recommend a Drum/Trigger Module? My drummer wants to start using triggers with his kit. He's kind of torn over it. He says he was thinking about the Alesis DM5, DM Pro, etc. Can any of you guys recommend a good module or whatever to check out (Doesnt have to be alesis)? Would appreciate it, thanks ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hmmmmm, my drummer back in 97/98 had a D4 and it was 'OK', but did come off sounding a bit too unnnatural, I felt. The next drummer I was working with had a Ddrum unit which I felt was head & shoulders above the Alesis, he was using a purely pad kit with acoustic snare & cymbals. It's probably worth thinking about the intention of what it is needed for, if you are literally going to trigger the kicks and then use an external sample, Something like an Alesis will track everything fine, if you're looking for something more sophisticated (rimshots, well proportioned dynamics etc) then I would imagine there's newer units that would handle it better. His kicks just aren't that loud naturally live, we want something with a more consistent thunder to it that can hang with the 2 guitars/bass. Like what units? Im looking for actual units that people think are good that I can relay to him. |

They trigger on the pedal, so you don't get any false triggers. As for modules, I hear the dm4 kicks ass, and the dm5 has some fancier shit I believe, never used either one so I'm just relaying what I've heard. |
