KxK Singlecut, short run

OK, Rob told me that with it so close, he wants to do the singlecut this time out. He still has to work out the case with G&G for the ProtoV, so he needs a little more time. Trust me, though, it will be around the corner.

So, there are a couple of questions. The first is scale length, which is in the poll. He designed it at 26.5", but can change it if people want 25.5" instead. I've added a no preference option for the people who don't care either way.

The second is the top wood. Would any of you be interested in a flame maple top for an upcharge?

26.5" definitely... is this a 7-string singlecut we're talking about? And when does this 'short run' begin?

Point made. I think I'm still just having trouble getting out of the mental block that singlecuts aren't a viable option in 7-strings (not a fan of the Dean or the Epi).

... and when does this short run begin? I gotta say I'm interested. Are there any pics of how that prototype turned out (yes, I saw the other thread, but it's not finished)?

I voted 25.5", just because that's my preference. 26.5" wouldn't necessarily be a deal-killer for me, but I'd have to think about it.

I'm not personally interested in a flamed top, but wouldn't mind if the upcharge isn't too bad.

I'm a 25.5 length kind of guy. I don't think I'd go for it if it was the 26.5. But definately with the 25.5!

How would a flamed maple top look with an oil finish? And I imagine routing for a Kahler is out of the question eh?

25.5 flame maple would be awesome but how much of an up charge and what grade of maple?
