You can't do a Kahler on a carved top, unless you recess it, which messes up the neck angle. That is why Kahler made a stud mounted version. Unfortunately, there is no stud mount 7+ string Kahlers.

i beg to differ.

they make an 8 as well

i have no interest in ordering one of these Singlecuts, but throwing my 2 cents in for future short runs (should there be more). i think a trem option with an upcharge is far more appealing than a figured top option .

They block photobucket at my office.

So, I stand corrected it seems. I didn't know they came out with the studmount version.

It was released at the same time. I figured it was a no go since it's a bare bones run. Anyone have any pics of a flamed maple top with an oil finish? Does it make it "pop out" like lacquer does?

EDIT: Actually now that I think about it, since it is a recessed TOM, a Kahler wouldn't work at all. Would still need to be recessed unless Rob stuck a neck angle on it.

When I ordered my KxK from the first "big 12 Sii" run, I had asked Rob how he was going to get a flatmount Kahler on the radiused top? He said he'd just make a flush route so It'd be fine. It would be a pain in his dick probably to do some guitars that way and some not considering the point of the new runs are more of a "production like" simplicity with a "bang em' out" approach.

Where is the line of when these just become full out customs again?

I might be wrong, but you can get these custom, but you'd not get in on the fast turn around, low price aspect of it.

If i have to get out of my vehicle, I'll fill this whole street full of uppercut!

cpnhowdy is on a distinguished road
Depending on how much the upcharge is I'd be interested in a flamed top.

26.5 and yes I'd be in for the flame/quilt top at an extra surcharge.

26.5 but I would rather it be 27". Is there a reason the single cut is better at 26.5? Or is is just a preference thing?

I would be pretty interested either way, any chance in getting some pics of what KxK singlecuts look like?
