Mine is a full on custom, and with many of the design changes that Rob is making, mine is kind of in an indefinite hold pattern. You will most certainly get yours before me. Hell, odds are I will have a completely different guitar before that one.

Okay im VERY intrested in one of these i will have to try work out a way of making £900 ish in a few months. When i get back from school ill try work out something. I guess he will ship to the UK...

Congrats noodles..! Btw i gather the guitar is still neck-thru.. isn't? What about the colour.. do I have the option of choosing it?

I don't mean to speak for him, but since he already addressed this in the thread I'll answer for you. Yes it's neck thru, it will only come in that natural finish like you see in the pic.

Rob gets really nice-looking pieces of mahogany for the wings. I seriously considered having him just oil my guitar rather than do the yellow finish, after I saw the particularly gorgeous pieces of mahogany he used on my guitar. In the end, my need to be loud and obnoxious won out...

Unfortunately, mahogany is one of those catch all names that covers a wide range of different species of trees, of varying weights, grain patterns, and tonal qualities. It's a result of the rush to find a suitable replacement for Honduran mahogany, most of which come from Africa, and not South America.

This is why a Jackson COW7 weighs next to nothing, whereas a USA Charvel with the same mahogany body can break your back.

In all fairness, when you get into the world of neck through instruments, the body wings are providing tonal coloring, and nothing more. The neck wood dominates the tonal spectrum, with the fingerboard coming in next. My Sii-7 and Mike's Soloist, each with the same bridge pickup, are almost tonally identical. I think the scale length plays more into than the wings, although I can hear a touch more warmth in mine, a little more snap in his.
