but I've got to know about the colour stains- this is probably a retarded question, but are they going to be more-or-less a solid colour on the top, or will the maple in the neckthru be clearly visible through it on the black or red stains? Also how possible would it be to get a ridiculously dark red stain (think the Gibson Voodoo series)?
I believe it's just a clear oil finish, isn't it? Not a stain, per se.

Based on That Web Page I've Been Checking Ten Times A Day For The Last 1.5 Years, it appears that 4 out of the 12 aren't yet finished, since Rob posts pics pretty much right after they are done. And two of those have the 7-string Kahler, where I thought there was some sort of hang-up or something.

The maple neck will be visible through the top, like a SC model ESP/LTD. I'll check back with him on what colors he will be offering.

The gibson voodoo finish is pretty sweet but i should mention that they were swamp ash that had the grain filed with red, sanded down then sanded with black or something like that.Probably wouldnt look to good on the maple part of the body

I know, I was just drawing inspiration from the Voodoo line. A dark red stain could still look really cool.
