MY ASS IS GAS

And nah, I've just always wanted one. I was originally aiming for a Dellinger HGS (w/floyd) and then the TAT II red sunset got announced so I was like...yes! But I still want the CA, it's like a dream. And hell, if I wanted an ebony/mahogany I could just get the Dean Rusty Cooley, and it'd still cost less

The thing I'm most interested in the Sig:X as like you said the 50 watt / 100 watt switcharoo. I'm sure it'll be awe-some.

Why would you pay $1899 for an imported Dean w/ a TRS trem? Man the shit you seem to really want is the most overpriced stuff in the history of guitars

You could get a USA Jackson, custom made KxK, Sherman, BRJ, PRS, etc all for less than that imported Dean or the Caparison. Have you even played a Caparison before? I'm not saying Caparisons arent sweet as hell, but I think you're overrating things a bit, focusing mainly on a name on a headstock and not quality or specs.

I'm not trying to be a dick, I know what it's like to have irrational GAS for something, I'm just trying to keep you grounded by giving you good information You can of course get whatever you wish!

PS: FWIW you may really dig the Vigier stuff. Everyone tells me those are unreal.

This is going to sound harsh, but: get over it. You apparently have the money to afford a really bitching guitar, and you're sacrificing potential instrument quality for a name on the headstock and maybe a paint finish (although the latter is debatable).

Seriously, Nick has a collection of some of the best custom builders in America (if not the world) lined up, most of which have very balanced rates. For the amount you'd spend on a high-end European or Asian import, you could get a much higher cost/quality ratio with a custom. Even if you went with "factory" specs and didn't experiment with woods, parts or instrument dimensions (the Cooley's body routes don't count, since they're a non-issue for custom builders), the build and wood pedigree would make it a more worthwhile investment. Are Caparisons good instruments? Without a doubt. Are they worth their comparatively high cost in North America? I'm not so sure.

Note: Really, this is all conjecture coming from me, as I haven't played a Caparison. But it's annoying to see you say "well, I suppose I could give my preferred guitars specs up, just so I can have a Caparison" while staying willfully blind to the myriad alternatives available even within the same shop.

Excellent post man. That really captures the essence of how I feel as well. I could not have said it better.

Luckily the buy-in for Vigier is modest so I won't have to commit to a ton of orders. I'm excited, everything I'm hearing about Vigiers sounds great.

I'll look into them and see what's up. I think BKP, DiMarzio and Seymour Duncan might be enough for now but I'll at least do my homework and consider it.

Thank you I would appreciate your support. I can assure you, as anyone who's contacted me for a price quote can attest, that the prices will be second to none. If you private message me with what you're interested in I can give you a quote. Prices like that are confidential however, otherwise I'd just post it here.
