![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yeah, you probably should have consulted the forum before making the purchase, but what's done is done. Like I said you'll be okay if you buy a Hot Plate. If you don't want to go that route, the good news is $1100 is a good deal and you should easily be able to make your money back if not extra if you were to sell it. The Triple Rec really is meant to be a touring amp, it is insanely loud, and any tube amp that is 150w will not hit it's 'sweet spot' until it gets to near-defeaning levels without an attenuator such as a Hot Plate. Some amps like ENGLs and VHTs sound pretty good at low volumes for whatever reason, but Mesa's do not. All the diehard Mesa fans here will even admit to that. Honestly if it was me and I was playing at home only, I would have invested in something else or a lower wattage Mesa such as the DC3, F-30, .22 Caliber, Rectoverb 50, etc. |

![]() | that is really fantastic. I can't wait for my Sherman. Well i can its just hard. His work looks mind blowing, not to mention the lack of bad reviews any where. looks like i will have to go through you for my next Sherman then. Not a bad option I must say. hopefully this will make things hella easier on him so he can finish my guitar faster. ![]() |

No we don't sell Hot Plates yet, you'd have to get one from one of the chains or whatnot. Quote:

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Nick, is there anything out there that can channel the sound of a Mesa at lower volumes without a power attenuator? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Nope, other than perhaps one of the older 20/30w Mesa combos, but those are fairly loud too. Mesa's just aren't good at low volumes without an attenuator. VHT, ENGL, 5150s, etc sound pretty cool at soft levels (my VHT Pittbull UL and ENGL Fireball actually sounded cool with the volume basically on zero believe it or not). |
