you unwrap the tape from the pickups first, right, but leave the baseplates on? when do you rewrap the tape--while the wax is still soft, or after it hardens?

yeah, glorp isn't on most Periodic Tables.

I take the tape off and leave the baseplate on. I'd recommend rewrapping the tape after it hardens to make it easier to deal with later.

Best solution is buy some new tape from Stew Mac, as the old tape can get funky.

I did do it both ways, though, and either works fine, to be honest.

You can just use electrical tape if all you want is to not have wire exposed. Never knew exactly why that sort-of-cloth-but-not-really shit was so hot...

I actually used some electrical tape on my JB. So, yep.

Well, tried the Alnico 8 at practice today and I really wasn't blown away with it in my JB...

Plus, since I didn't repot it, it's slightly microphonic. So, tommorow is going to be spent getting it all squared away for our show on Friday.

Is there a quick fix for microphonics? Like, it I were to pad the cavity with foam to keep it from vibrating too much?

Possible...

Surprised. I think the A8 SLAYS for metal rhythm. True, the A5 is nice, but the A8 is just bettah!

You could always try foam. I think Mike the Mod did that for awhile. Heh. Man, I can put my guitar RIGHT NEXT to a blasting amp now, and besides pleasant feedback, there's no squeal. It's awesome.

I'm not sure why, but it's got the squeal that kind of "creeps up"

I dunno, I just wasn't floored by it, I could have been hoping for too much, and I'm leaning strongly towards the Blackouts.

Does it matter which way I actually put the magnet in? I know that it's been mentioned, but does it really MATTER?
