Great Mr. Oni, I've been a huge fan of your work for a while now. I believe your product is the perfect blend of art, functionality, innovation, and practicality.

Are you back up and running now? I know you've been through some life situations recently. Have things gotten better? Back to taking orders?

I hope to one day order one of your e-scale fanned 8's! (why do I have to be so broke right now!) Do you still refuse to do any more carbon fiber guitars? I know its a lot of work involved, but Highgain510's and Bostjan's are probably the most amazing guitars I've ever seen. If you would, make that a carbon fiber e-scale fanned 8 (and those gloriously designed curved-fanned pickups).

In the meantime Mr. Oni, please update your site and Facebook or give us an update on what's going on here. Not to be vulgar, but we need some more Oni guitar porn to jerk off to!

p.s. If no on the carbon fiber, where are you with the stock/production Oni's? Will they be e-scale as well?

Last I heard he's not doing carbon fibre anymore as its just not worth it.

Not worth it as in too labor intensive? Definitely not a deal breaker for me, I just think they look cool. I still really want a 8 string e-scale though-maybe those production models that were mentioned are underway I can start put $ or get on a waitlist or something. Let me know! And more pics!

Im not sure, I think Dan mentioned it earlier in the thread. Its a very annoying process and not very healthy either.

Im also pretty sure he's taking orders right now, probably has a significant wait list but its worth emailing him!

Actually I'm pretty sure he's not taking any orders at the moment, but since I'm not him so I'm not 100% sure having said that, he does have a few stock/prototype guitars that he will be selling once they're complete, including some e-scale goodness!

Give the man some time, he's not around often as he's trying to get through with his orders! Mine being one of them!

PM replied to koloss! Questions about what's happening have pretty much been answered above, but to reiterate, no custom orders just yet unless you're incredibly patient, trusting, and giving me almost total control of specs. The focus will be on 'stock' e-scale 7 and 8 strings in future, followed by more conventional 6 and 7 strings. By stock I mean they'll be built from materials I have on hand to set designs and made available close to or at completion. My actual physical build process is reasonably efficient now, the real problems come from materials sourcing down here in Aus, and from continually having to alter designs and make special one use tooling. I find myself wasting a day trying to find a suitable piece of wood then paying more than it's cost in shipping it, or making a clamping caul to exactly match a scale length or neck profile I'll never use again. When designs are set and I'm using materials on hand things run a whole lot quicker, errors get eliminated and everything is much less stressful for everyone.
