A multiscale fretless would be very hard to transition too. Even if you were used to multi scale instruments that would still be a pretty tough thing to do.

You could always inlay the frets I suppose. If you wanted one and didn't feel like having to slide into the right notes all the time.

If you mean a scalloped fanned fret that would be intresting but absolute pain to do.

scalloped fanned fretless 11 string bass, with tremolo. now that'd be something, just because :P

My next guitar will be a multiscale fretless ,ad I have the right solution for the problem.I will put epoxy filled fretwire holes in the fretboatd which are lit by a LED. I still search for the right material for the board.

Of all the luthiers I admire, you work is the best I think. Absolutely visionary design. I see the compact body Ziricote 8 is on the website. I really liked that guitar, I don't know whyy the guy who bought it sold it on so fast. Maybe what he thought was a great idea was not what he actually wanted once he played it.

I love the body design you eventually went with, its so modern and quirky, without being in-your-face.

Thanks to Gojira for the name and the massive amount of assistance.
Expect a website very soon. The focus of Oni is extended range guitars, so 7 or more strings, fretless, that kind of thing.
We'll see how things go, I suppose

No problem, I like the site a lot. I always love looking at Oni guitar porn and a random google search surprised me today with a finished website, haha.

I seriously think you have some of the best guitar designs on the planet. It has been a little lonely on the board lately when it comes to oni guitars though....anything new and crazy in the works?

I would just like to say that I've heard nothing but positive feedback about Dan's guitars. Never tried one myself, but everyone I talk to reckons it's the way to go if you've got the coin.

Awesome website Dan! I LOVE IT!

BTW... I still play my Oni constantly and love it more every day--and I've had it for almost a year and a half now and it just keeps getting better.

Website looks awesome Dan! I love how you have the Oni mask logo on the page, and how the Oni head actually rolls as you go between the pages! Great info on each page, and I love the design for the site, too. Simple, well thought-out, and effective, as you'd expect from the Oni master.

I'm not a fan of flash but the website looks really pro

BTW I believe this thread belongs into the dealers section since this is self promotion and also to be fair with the other makers...

agreed, but this thread is ancient, it dates back to before we even had a dealers section. I think I made another thread in the dealers section a while back, for some reason this one won't die
