8DC 8 string guitar

Both 8DC and 8 Scale runs will be happening with orders accepted the first week of April.

KxK is highly customer-driven and Rob has received a lot of inquiries recently about 8 string guitars. Interest has been in two areas, the 8 Scale and an 8DC. I talked to Rob about it a bit and here's the deal. He's willing to do a run of either IF there are 5 people willing to take part in either run.

8DC around $3k base price, single color flat clear etc etc
8 Scale around $4k base price, single color flat clear etc etc

Deposits would be around $1000

8DC would probably be HH, 28" scale (all builds would be the same scale)

8 Scale would be identical to the previous run (25.5"-28")

ONLY VOTE IN THE POLL IF YOU HAVE THE $ AND WOULD BE INTERESTED IN PLACING AN ORDER.

I know this isn't very helpful, and I've annoyed interest threads doing this before....but I'd want an 8DC, just not $3k badly. I'd no doubt throw him my cash if it was something like $2.3k. I'm sure other people would do the same, and we could get more in the run?

It was clearly stated what the ballpark price for the runs would be. If you're not interested please don't waste everybody's time.

Rob works for free, and you get a kick ass guitar for a very very good price uh?

I´m sorry, but people should really, really start to lower their expectations.
Maybe customs aren´t for whoever wants them?

Definately interested in a scale 8, it'd be nice if it didn't coincide with my strandberg build starting in a year or so but I'm sure I'd get over it. Let us know how it goes yo

So it's really going to depend on the timing of when deposits will need to be in on whether or not I'll be able to jump in on this one.

I have a scale 7 in the works but oh man a scale 8 is so tempting. Only thing is Id like to know is when the cutoff date might be for placing the deposit. If its a ways off then that increases my chances of committing. And what body style for a scale 8?

Not positive on how long orders would be open for, probably a couple weeks from the start date (which will be sometime after 5 people willing to place a deposit show up

)

"base price" is for basic stats, so maple or mahogany neck, mahogany or alder wings, maple or ebony board. Other stuff like figured tops would be available for an upcharge (had somebody else ask about that in a PM).

If it happens there would be options like different fretboard woods and figured tops for upcharges.
