RGR1570 Build (Neck)
Howdy!
I just picked up a used 2002 RG1570 body off the bay. I plan to make a neck for it. I’m not trying to spend a whole lot, so I cheap-d out on hardware somewhat On to the specs: - Bamboo Neck w/ reversed head stock - Maple Fret board - Generic machine heads and trem (will be blocked) - I have some stock Ibanez pickups lying around, might upgrade to CL-LF or BKP’s later Here is the body I received today. ![]() It’s in decent condition, just this ding towards the output jack and a few scratches here or there. ![]() ![]() Bamboo for neck. ![]()

That's what I love about Floyds, no need for nice tuners, you just lock the nut, and block the trem and let the fine tuners do all the work.
![]() I'm digging the finish on this one aswell. Nice output jack route too. |

Just got machine heads! Darn china, you only gave me five washers. Oh well.
Just waiting on the trem to start the neck.

It is in the dealers section, because I'm considered a builder/dealer. I posted it in this form for that reason.

Just got my super cheap-o trem in the mail,
![]() and of course, ![]() It doesn't fit. ![]() Now some time in the future I will probably purchase an Edge Pro anyway, so I do NOT want to re-route and mess with the cavity shape and size. Modifications to tremolo will be necessarily. ![]() I filed away at the "knife edge" to accommodate for two screws. ![]() ![]() Blocked!!! ![]() ![]() Now the serous work begins. I've already cut the bamboo and am planning to glue this weekend. |

![]() That's rosewood in center. ![]() There's the big block I cut the strip from. The picture's a little blurry. Sorry, not the greatest lighting. ![]() Fret board planed. Ready for slotting and radius-ing

Did you laquer the fretboard, then scrape off the residue from the frets or did you not yet crown them?

I did lacquer the fret board, I use steel wool remove the lacquer on the frets when I polish the finish in a week or two.
