Oh, I know what the Tera looks like. It's just that I like Bernie's take on traditional shapes, and how he makes them look a little more agressive. The Explorer is too traditional looking, and too me doesn't look Rico-esque at all. But if he Kelly'd it up, or somehow made it more "his" then I think that would be cool.

I talked to him about both things last night. He is definitely down for changing any aspect of these guitars. Bernie is never going to be the guy who shies away from making a shape more aggressive if that's what someone wants. LOL

Any headstock shape ideas? I agree that isn't not a perfect fit. Maybe a 4+3 Diva headstock.

That's pretty much always an awesome option if you ask me. I can't really think of any guitar I don't want a reverse headstock on, so my opinion is slightly skewed.

I've had him working on the headstocks already as I pointe dout the one doesn't look bad on the Explorer but I personally hate it on the Tele... to me it screams First Act// but as mentioned these are prototypes that were put in woodshop some time ago. Also nobody mentioned or posted a photo to show but the LP and Explorer styled ones are Slant Tops.

There's 3 Tele's in production now a 6, the 7 pictured, and an 8. One is stock, one is the Limp Bizkit guy (Nate) and the other is mine.

The one pictured is the in stock the other two aren't out of woodshop yet. I was going to list it for sale once it's painted, but if you're interested then PM me stat cause it hasn't been painted yet.

Nate's is almost out and mine is just going in because we had to order the wood I wanted

If you ordered one with that he'd do it but with these being a "traditional series" the pointy headstock doesn't seem to fit the vintage vibe & he's trying to keep string pull straight. These are just prototypes with a prototype vintage headstock slightly altered from the Retro series.

What's up with the offset neck stock?

You can see it best with the pickup routes on this one:

This one isn't as bad, but you can still see it:

If you mean the maple on the top of the neck that's something they have always done dating clear back with his father at BC Rich from what I was told. It's not offset in terms of the whole body as more mahogany is accounted for on the bottom wing. If you have a trans top then they have it all lined up and the solid color ones have always been this way. It's just how the wood is cut if it is slightly less on one side they just add it with the wing. He said that it's all measured out even and made up with the wing but if it's that bothersome an issue he's going to do them all the same now. He's taking the wing off on these and shaving down the top of the neck to add a new wing on so it's all even. As stated these are prototypes, but none of this would effect the guitar in any sort of negative way.

Sounds like a good excuse to take more laxity with construction of painted guitars as that is nonsensical structurally. As your 'neck pocket' or more appropriately your neck heel is a single material either way, surrounded so to speak, the wing material is not going to have a significant effect should that area be stressed. Changes in stiffness can always lead to some stress concentration (hence in simpler terms 'stiffness attracts load'), however the wings don't really enter that part of the construction.

You guys are relentless . Bernie mentioned the same thing to me when we were talking about a few of the unique things he's doing with his builds about 6 months ago. He's actually pretty adamant about the idea, I'm sure if someone called him up and asked him personally he'd tell you all about it

I spoke to Bernie he said this is true for the bolt-on's which is why the hesperians looked the way they initially did. There is no real reason on the neckthru's it's just if the neck is cut shorter on one side they just add more to the wings so the body is still even.

Anyway for the ones nitpicking even though it wouldn't negatively effect the guitars he's "fixing" the prototypes and shot over these to post for your viewing pleasure.
