Hey man. When you see the color I am talking about, take that into consideration for that Maple burl top. Sound good? You have the color example in your email. I think Maple burl is the way to go for the top.

That shrink wrapping is cool. 3 month build time isn't long but it's pics like these that make it hard!!

^Lol if you knew the horrible experience I went through with another custom luthier you'll understand the pent up GAS/anticipation I have for a custom haha.

So I have a question, I hear spalted maple doesn't take stain well. Is it possible or something you guys wouldn't be into doing? I'm hoping to pull the trigger in about a month and a half on a custom.

That's true, but it can be sprayed with a translucent color. That's generally what you see, since as you say a stain won't work.

Now see I do like that. I just don't wanna go plain spalted. It's a beautiful wood but its not often you see a stain or translucent spalt. Thanks hollowway!
