The more I look at these, the more I want to sell my BRJ BFR spot and get a custom from you. The sad thing is, I bet if I did that, I would get it before this Black Friday one would be done...

So I'm still waiting on binding to come in for the Double II #5 build, so I ended up getting a bunch done on the Asymmetry #1 in the meantime.

Well I just love the hell out of these. Amazing work. As soon as I get some dough together, I'll be giving you a call for a fanned 8.

Here's a pic of the nearly-complete Asymmetry build. Down to just fret dressing, wiring and final setup, although I might not get to it for a while. I have a CNC machine coming in sometime next week, so I'll have a lot of time invested in setting that bad boy up.
Anyway, nearly complete Asymmetry:

I'm really looking at getting one of these... I may email for a custom quote soon, I'm just hesitant since every time I think about going for a custom I get smacked in the face with higher tuition =/ But if things run smoothly then who knows!
Also quick question, is it possible to get say an Ibanez or Blackmachine headstock copied shape or not? I think ET guitars once said the ycould do the headstock shape for Ibanez but not put the logo on there. In the jungle you must wait, until the dice read 5 or 8 |

While I won't do a direct copy of a headstock/body shape, I am totally willing to work with you to come up with a design that's more in the vein of BM/Ibanez if that's what you're after.

Love the body shapes you have up on the website, the "Double" prototype is something else, would love to free up some money for that!

Some more progress... it's been slowly coming along as I fight with setting up new equipment in the shop, but this one is nearing completion:

Just wanted to drop one last picture of the two spalted guitars currently on my workbench. I won't be updating the progress on the Double II until it's completed and in the customer's hands, which should be in 2-3 weeks. The tele should be completed next week sometime (getting racked up on the neck relief jig this weekend, and tore back down for final polishing afterwards).

Firstly, Howdy to a fellow Texan!
Due to my work, I spend 1/3 of the month in San Antonio, 1/3 in Houston, and the other 1/3 in Dallas. I take 281 through Marble Falls all the time. Marble Falls is a great area. That Double II is sexy as hell. Wow. Do you also have a picture of the Double I? Do you offer the Schaller-Hannes bridge as an option on any of the guitars, specifically, any of the six strings? The Single is really slick looking, but in the mock-up you have on the website, the horn cut-a-way seems to be less pronounced that what you actually produced for the one you posted pictures of. Is the horn cut-a-way usually less pronounced and more understated? Lastly, is it possible to get a flat top, rather than a carved top, on the Single? (Big thumbs up for producing a string-through LP body style, rather than the way overdone stop-tail piece. ![]() )Great work. I sincerely wish you all the best, and I hope your company sky rockets. Just curious, what was the evolution of how you started all of this? What did you do before Black Water Guitars, and what was the impetus for finally jumping into it full-time? |

).I moved to Texas a couple years ago and after not having a shop of my own for a year or so, I had the opportunity to grab up some shop space in town and retool, and decided to go at the guitar building thing with gusto, and here we are today

I will man! Definitely making an NGD thread and doing a tone test.
It's definitely going to be my main axe, finally something to take the place of my Agile 828 haha. I'm new to Fanned Frets so this should be a fun learning experience. |
