NGD - Einstein is finished
Ok, so Einstein is pretty much finished. Got a few little things to do, add a few coats of oil, make a control cavity cover, but all in all, hes done.
I ended up going with a c-pig in the bridge. Sounds pretty awesome. I also ended up getting some brass piping and did the side dots in a cool little pattern with 3 different sizes. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() AMERICA, .... I'v had wrist problems over the years, and thicker necks make my wrist feel better for some reason, so I left it big. Since i didnt stain it and just oiled it, i can rasp/file/sand into it at anytime for slimming adjustments, and just reoil with no seams.
I also took into acount the headlessness and tiny body, and figured a thicker neck would make it feel a bit more substantial. As for how it plays? I just finished filing the radius out of the graphtech nut and the bridge, so it is playing like butter now. |

Holdsworth-esque vibe happening and that makes me very happy. Nice work Sir
While raping a bear in Yellowstone and snorting coke out of a freshly-dead baby's skull, I finally felt that I had found my calling and built a time machine out of Iraqi WMDs and LOTS OF HEMP WHOA. Absolute beauty man!
Did you add this to the Member built thread? Do you have any pictures of it being played while seated? What's the red ergo-ish guitar to the left of Einstein? Ray The Ultimate Question: What string gauge is needed for 18.84# of tension when tuned to E2 on a 27" scale guitar?

No, but i can get some. The bottom half is designed for seated play, so it would be cool to show it off. And that red guitar is a strandberg knock off i made. Heres the thread I'm a sucker for red Quote:

My first reaction upon entering thread : "wut?"
Awesome job! I really want to hear how that sounds. One doubt though, Does the very short string-thru slots (especially the 3 strings that's VERY close to the back of the bridge) affect string bend tension? I also think that such a steep break angle wouldn't help with longevity either... -ESP Eclipse I CTM FT w/ BKP Rebel Yells -ESP M-II w/ D-sonic/Air Norton -Jackson RR3 w/ EMG81/60 -Schecter C1 Hellraiser |

Not exactly the most flattering shape, but it seems practical, and the execution looks well done. Nice one, dude.

siple and practical (2 very good qualities). The fret board looks unusually thick to me. Do you think the added thickness causes the fretboard wood to have a greater effect on the tone than usual?
