Looking good, Tom!
You guys are gonna love these guitars, I think. My OAF 8 is the only guitar I play anymore, and it's in my hands every single day. Oh man these look sooo damn good.
By the way, I haven't posted a ''new neck day'' because I'm going to tru-oil the fretboard before I do (turned out I really do prefer that over just using fret doctor oil) so until' I do I'm not gonna post it, but I will say this: 1. The neck profile is AMAZING. It's exactly what I wanted. It's not ridiculously thin so you still have a good grip on it and it feels like a D profiled neck, without the shoulders that make it a D. Also, raw Rosewood is like wiping your ass with silk (To steal a quote from the Matrix) 2. Fretwork is awesome; the ends aren't semi-hemi or anything fancy but you can't feel them at all. Sliding up and down the neck there were never any sharp ends, it all felt very smooth. 3. The Flame maple. DAT FLAME. It's ridiculously intense and much more interesting to look at than the standard thin flamed/fiddleback fretboards that I've seen on some Carvin's. It looks like it's alive and when I tru-oil it, it's going to pop even more. 4. Luminlay's. Best invention since sliced bread. They also look really sweet; there's a black dot but then the center is a luminlay. 5. I have a brass nut on mine. Just looking at it...that thing is a piece of art, seriously. 6. 20'' Radius is something I should have done 3 years ago, it's LOVELY. |

I had a dream last night about playing one of the new headless models, the body was rather small and fit really nice and the weight was perfect and it played like a dream it also had the same finish as Sams.. woke up wet very disappointed it wasn't real
![]() Good going Tom, you've made it into my dreams.. I guess this is some serious GAS. [Fiction] 1:47 pm: she could probably toss a salad with that thing |

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. I apologize for being rather scarce on here, I've been trying to spend alot of time in the shop and Wendy has been taking and posting pics for me on Facebook. Hopefully we'll have some more pics posted tomorrow.

It looks killer, congrats! Tom is crushing this run. I like how much work has been done since the last batch of progress pics during building. They are like completely different guitars.

I'm definitely excited about getting these guitars finished. They are turning out very well and are a blast to play.
We'll probably have some more pics up tomorrow or Monday. I have a full day of dog training, grocery shopping and blueberry bush transplanting tomorrow!! yoohoo!!!!!!! Oakland Axe Factory uses Octave4Plus custom strings, Dimarzio and Lace pickups, Hipshot Hardware and Graphtech saddles. |

I believe that is TMM's guitar. He has the maple board with the natural flamed finish. I love the contrast with the stain on the back.

Indeed it is mine, and it looks sweeeeet. It's Flame Maple cap, fretboard, and headstock, all natural finish.

He CRUSHED the finish on mine. I sent him two pictures of guitars with finishes close to what I was looking for and he nailed it.
I knew it would look good, but that looks great. |
