Dan gets pretty much whatever the hell he wants, to be frank - this is a weight on Darren's back as well as a fun challenge: and a very rewarding one should it please Dan as much as he expects it to.

On the one hand, having a very demanding customer can be stressful, because you want everything to be exactly right and for the final product to live up to their very high expectations. On the other hand, it's really great to be working with someone who has a ton of experience, who knows what he wants, and can articulate it very well.

I'd much rather have that than a customer who is indecisive, doesn't know what they want, and keeps changing specs over and over.

I've witnessed incredible cases of the later, much to the luthier's despair! The former, however, have to be a fantastic challenge!

I've got the prototype body and fretboard back from my CNC guy, so hopefully some updates soon. Building a prototype neck this weekend.
