Official Searls Guitars Thread...
I've just started a Facebook page called "Searls Guitars"
http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/p...22774891137687 If you're on facebook and want to check it out, please hit the like button and spread the word to other guitarists etc. I'm not trying to sell anything on there - but down the track I would like to be, I'm just trying to get my name out there a bit and see what people think and have to say about my stuff. Take feedback and comments, constructive critisizm, suggestions on how to improve and what people like/don't like etc. Thanks for looking. Cheers Allan |

Yeah, it's been quite a while, caught up with too much of the other crap that happens in life and sidetracks us. I'm hoping to spend a lot more time from now on in the workshop playing with wood! I saw on the other forum you've been busy yourself. Although the shapes are not my cup of tea the workmanship looks ....ing awesome, top shelf. Something to be proud of, I would be! |

I hear ya!
Shapes are a funny thing, they garner a lot of attention, but very few sales. If it was about making money, we'd all make strats and LPs... The shop is my oasis in the insanity of life. Never want to leave... I am envious of your paint skills. I have not had success in that field yet. |

Like today I was doing something simple, just spraying clear on a neck, but still managed to get solvent pops all over such a simple job. It doesnt stress me on the neck as it was only just to seal the grain before I sand it all and do other work to it, but on the orange candy guitar I got the same thing. I know what caused that, but if I was a "pro" painter it would not have happened! I am getting better at painting though. I'm not getting runs all over the place like I was in the earlier days, I've done some shit hot paint jobs - and some very very terrible ones! More to come down the track as I have so many ideas, just no time to do tem all! |

Bought it direct from the manufacturer. Just google "marlin" and you'll find them in no time
I found the jobs I bought it to do it's no good for but I use it for stuff I wouldn't have though of. Go figure! |

Heres my completed pics from the last build. I hope to have some live shots soon as the new owner will be playing at a Metal festival in a fortnight.
I should also mention - the dots you see in the pics, it was starting to rain so I had to rush the pics real fast before packing up! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Truss rod route aside it looks very good. Strap button placement seems peculiar but as long as it balances up well.

Because the body is so thin it had to be mounted back so it had something to screw into.
