Ah, I think it's awesome that you chose delrin for the nut. Hard enough, plenty stable, and has low friction.... it even machines pretty well.

I might have to give it a try and maybe change the nut on my 7...

Good News Is I got mee some 10mm brad point bit

Looking Great so far!

And then Some how I got carried away with sanding....

I'm going to move the top right three holes over about 1mm. I hope.

i would recommend to seal the holes up with 10mm wooden cylinders and then re drill your holes in the right position.
also veneer would help to hide the imperfection.

I'm going to paint this surface white, so veneer may not be necessarily.
I have another solution tho, Instead of messing with the holes, I'm going to add material.

i am not sure what do you mean with adding material but the paint alone might not help i am talking from experience. you will use sealer/filler sand it down flat and even do it again then prime coat then the main coat and the F-ing holes notches will be still visible.

Can anyone give advice on a white finish? I don't know what to put under or in nitro lacquer to get an opaque white finish.

I erased black marks from the maple that came from my hands after fret work.
This eraser is awesome!

Stewmac and Guitar reranch both sell pigment for nitro in white. You would be able to achieve a pretty opaque finish with enough coats. You could also go with a premixed white automotive lacquer over a primer. Basically you are making a hard white paint which uses nitro as the binder.

To get Opaque white you are probably going to need to go with a white primer coat.

Yep, this:

STEWMAC.COM : ColorTone Liquid Pigment for Lacquer

In white. It's what I'm using for a trans white finish on an ash body right now. With enough pigment in the lacquer or enough coats it becomes solid white.
