For now, a Caparison Dellinger HGS (mahogany body, hard maple/ebony neck/fingerboard).

Later, I might use 1 of them for my Warmoth custom (all mahogany + ebony).

the warpigs (nailbombs) are suitable for both neck and bridge, right?

Anyone have a suggestion for one of these if I'm looking for a distorted tone along that of the Red Chord's and Animosity's?

BKP does calibrated sets, ie there are different Warpig (Nailbomb) bridge and neck pups.

Yes they are. While BKP makes a calibrated set for all their models, certainly some models are better than others for the neck position. The Warpig makes an awesome awesome neck pickup. Certain pickups like the Holy Diver or Painkiller could certainly sound great in the neck with the right setup, they're voiced more for the bridge. The Warpig however was designed with both positions in mind.

So, there's no right or wrong, and whatever you'd want Tim would calibrate them, but certainly some are more ideal than others.

Miracle Man or Nailbomb I'd say, perhaps the ceramic Warpig as well.

Just to clarify, because people seem to get the wrong idea (probably because the current website only describes and gives the specs of the bridge pickups). The neck and bridge versions of the same model are often entirely different designs. Tim simply designs a neck pickup to complement the bridge model sonically, and former often bears no resemblance to the latter construction-wise. It's worth mentioning that the Painkiller neck pickup is the only neck model that Tim puts a ceramic magnet in as stock.
For example, the Nailbomb neck pickup actually has a vintage PAFy type feel to it. IIRC it is around 11K output compared with the 16K bridge model. As a pair, the two work absolutely beautifully.

Before thinking of mixing and matching different models (e.g a lot of people automatically jump to the Cold Sweat neck), it's worth finding out from Tim exactly what the matched neck version sounds like. Each time I've bought a set of BKPs, I've planned to mix models, but each time Tim's description of the matching pickup fitted the bill perfectly, and I've ended up with calibrated sets, and got exactly the sounds I want.
