I say you implement a rule at your store...
"If caught stealing, not only will the product be returned to the store, but the theif's neck will be broken by smashing a Hello Kitty guitar over their head." Dark clouds in your heaven. Your end has only begun. You can scream but there's no rescue, I promise I'll make you sure that you die in time. ![]() |

Zimbloth, you should open the store in Worcester instead, that way I only have to drive 5 minutes
![]() What do you recommend for any rackmount preamp? I'm thinking about something besides the recto recording preamp I have right now. I have a mesa 2:100 power amp, but find the tone on the preamp somewhat limiting. Kevin
GUESS WHAT I'VE GOT? Fitzgibbons 5000 ultra synapse accellerator which allows me to think faster than the masses and phase in and out of the matrix at will.

If you want to go ultra cheap but still good, the old Peavey Rockmaster is pretty cool. The Marshall JMP-1 is alright but it's pretty solid-state sounding. Honestly though, I recommend a head over another preamp. You can get a superb head for the price of most high-end preamps. I don't mean to sound like a broken record, but I strongly suggest looking into a VHT amp. I'm confident if you stopped by my store when it opened you'd fall in love with those. I believe from your seeing your playing style and tastes those would be perfect for you. They have various models in different price ranges which are all superb. If you wanted something straight forward, the Deliverance 60 or 120 is a great way to go. If you wanted something versatile and top of the line, the Sig:X or Pittbull series are the way to go. If any of that interests you, get in touch with me and I can hook you up. Otherwise if you want to stick with pre-amps, try and find a used Peavey Rockmaster, that would be my formal recommendation. Anything else I could recommend in terms of high-end tube preamps that could hang with or beat out your Recto, would just be too expensive to be worth it IMO. ![]() |
