The MPF on my pups is pretty minimal, Scott, but I'm a perfectionist.
![]() No removing of the baseplate. Removing the tape is optional, which I plan to do. I've seen write-ups where they wrap some rubber bands around the pickup, to keep everything tight. I plan on doing that as well. This also works well for old pickups. As pickups don't have mechanical parts, there's no reason why they shouldn't last years and years. |

wow, i'm ALOT lazier in my magnet swapping than TDW
. i just loosen the baseplate screws, slide old magnet out, slide new one in, tighten screws, done! the pickups i've done don't seem any different than before (noise wise), but like others have said, the potting technique is much appreciated if i ever run into problems. |
