Finally, after almost a waiting......my imac as arrived!!

Hello there big ass box!

Let's go ahead and get started by opening it.

mmmmmmm.... looking good so far.

YUS!!!! 24 inch Imac

Now lets take a look at where its gonna be setup at..

YUK! filthy desk, haven't used this table for quite awhile and the poor hp 22 inch hasn't been used much. Let's clean this mess.

I love this, it's sooooo huge and runs like a dream. I was surprised how good the built in speakers were, but i still hooked in my logitech speakers. The only thing that i'm not liking is the keyboard and mouse. No matter, ill be replacing them with a logitech egernomic keyboard.

So what do you guys think?

buy one of these they are way better, the chinese one uses the standard us 104 layout, the others are the euro 105 layout which is a bit different

I was going to buy one of those.....or a macbook......or a macbook pro......then all these rumours started about a new apple product in the next couple of months, so since I don't want to buy two new computers, i'm gonna hold out to see what's revealed.

Most of it is simple speculation (macbook touch) but the macbook pro's are due for at least a make over, if not an overhaul, and it is confirmed that new products are in the works which supposeably the competition wont be able to compete with.

Sounds great to me if they're thinking of offering lower price points, which kind of makes sense. Their products are "fasionable" now and seem to sell just for the coolness factor alone, besides the great quality of the stuff. If they want to win over even more people, price looks like the next factor to overcome.

Lets just hope they don't sacrifice quality to meet this goal.

I'll be getting one of them later in the year, I've taken to using a Logitech mouse now, as while I don't hate the Mighty Mouse, the scroll wheel when dirty is pathetic. Its so hard to clean the damn thing too.

Cool ,

Glad to see load of MAC users here , I work with them everyday for a music company ( a big one i may add ) doing development stuff , we have 8 studios at work with Pro-Tools hardware/software, Cubase , Logic running on MacPro machines / quad cores with 12 gigs of memory in each machine in the studios .....the place is great to work and some evenings i even stay late and bring my guitar in and muck around recording stuff.

I've never seen an Apple keyboard that didn't come with a usb extension cord. Are you sure you don't have one in the box? It's for that exact purpose of putting the keyboard and mouse in your keyboard tray.

No not fucking cool, those are, to be blunt, complete pieces of shit. I'm a long time user of Logitech products and that set is absolutely horrible. I've got it in a box here somewhere. The mouse is ok but the keyboard keys, especially the space bar, tend to stick and the keyboard just feels really cheap overall.

The Apple mouse is horrible, but to be honest the new keyboards aren't bad (I'm not using one, but we have one downstairs on our Mini). I use the previous gen apple bluetooth keyboard and a Logitech mouse personally.

I agree, the keyboard works and is alright. But the mouse is total shit. It does that thing where you point at a certain area and ends up being somewhere in the total opposite. It's too light and feels cheap.

I agree with Technomancer in that Logitech keyboards are shit lately, so are every other one you can buy at the store. I personally think those chiclet keyboards that Sony invented for some only-god-knows-why reason are terrible.

If you don't want that full-size one I posted at the top of the thread buy this one: Compact Cherry Mechanical Switch Mac Keyboard SMK-88 by DS International it has mechanical keyswitches and those funky mac keys.

This GeekStuff4U.com - Happy Hacking for Mac is good too, but those guys import them from japan to the US as they don't sell the mac one here, it's a membrane keyboard so the keys feel a bit different than the ones I posted before.
