Apple - iPhone



Since v.2.0 of the software is a free download, there aren't many differences between the first gen and second gen phones. Its obviously the 3G and GPS capabilities. 3G would be nice, although my area won't have 3G until 2009, or so I was told. I would love to have GPS, but I can get by with the cell phone tower triangulation.

What are your thoughts?

I think there are going to be a lot of first-gen iPhones hitting the market from early-adopter technophiles who want to upgrade to the latest awesomeness.

Can it copy and paste?

Can it send MMS messages?

Is the camera on it any good?

Can it take video?

Has it become less gay?

Will iot still be tied to a network and cost more than an iPod?

To be honest, apart from the user interface, my nokia N95 does all that shit already, has a very good camera, does sat nav and has 8gb storage, plus i can use a phoen keypad to dial numbers (never underestimate how much of a bonus this is on a phone)

So, apple, if you'r going to make a good phone, go study everyone else that's been doing it for ages

I'll stick with my blackberry's but.

This will force a lot of cell phone carries and makers to rethink what they offer. This should bring more features to phones and hopefully give a wakeup call to carries like verizon who cripple factory features.

I bet the CEO of Garmin is comtemplating sucide. Garmin and the like have been overchaging for GPS units for too long. They have't updated the GUI in years!
Who needs a GPS if you have a decent one in your phone?

Actually if your a Mac user your Nokia does jack shit compared to the iPhone 3G. I don't think Apple need to study anyone else, 6 million phones sold in the first 12 months in only 6 countries, in July the iPhone 3G will be available in 24 countries, by the end of the year it will be sold in 70 countries. In just one year the iPhone has completely changed the way people use their phones and now other companies are trying to imitate them. For Mac users the way the iPhone integrates with their Mac and Apples web services is incredible and now Apple are opening these services up to PC users as well as making the iPhone 3G compatible with Microsoft services and Office.

I've always wanted an iPhone and now I'm more than happy I waited for the official Australian launch, the new features are incredible and very well thought out and off the top of my head I can't think of anything else I would want or need except for video and the best part for me is the iPhone has forced Australian Telco's to make mobile internet affordable.

I know what I want for my birthday.
