Since my slave HD went bad on me a while back, my desktop has been acting funny lately. I decided that I need a laptop for work and internet play.

I went to BestBuy and picked up a HP Pavilion dv9000 for a decent enough price. Now I can leave work early on Fridays and work from the bar by my place that has WiFi access.

I will be working on my PC soon and I will be only using that one for recording and movies since I have a 7.1 surround sound system for it . I'm going to backup all my music files and recordings. Then I'm going to format the whole thing and start anew. There goes next weekend.

So far, I'm pretty happy with it. I just have to get used to how Windows Vista does things.

Myself and a bunch of dudes I work with are big into MythTV and Mythbuntu so if you need any advice or just want some alternate opinions about building a PC based PVR rig, let me know, we've analyzed the fucking shit out of it.

I have an iPod already. I just have to download some software to get the music back off of the stupid thing. iTunes is ghey like that and won't let me put the music back on the same computer it came off of. All my music files were on the slave drive in my PC.
