ive had this thing for less than a week and today after a few freeze during the week i got the "3 red lights of death" from it , which to any xbox 360 owner is BAD NEWS.

so i ring up the store i got it from saying i want a refund or a replacement, to which he replies, no.... not unless Microsoft says they cant fix it , and i was like ZOMFGWTFBBQ??!!!111oneoneeleven

so i rang up the helpline and talked to some foreign guy 3 times for a total of about 1 1/2 hours , then after i tried all that he said i rang for the last time and he told me id have to send it in, also the store has no affiliation with microsoft in terms of replacement policy so he lieed to me coz he was to fucking lazy to call himself, so that pisses me off because NOBODY fucks me around,

so i rang the store again and asked for the manager, he wasnt there, so i guess i gotta ring tomorrow...

Also i just got all 13 halo skulls and my bitchin' hayabusa armour and cant play halo now =[ LAME! /rant


anyone who likes halo MUST watch all these except for drew because he enjoyed posh english,

3 red lights is a problem with the AV connection

try a different cable.

If you only just bought it the shop should replace it any time up to a year from purchase. Where did you buy it?

360's have 3 year microsoft warrantys they should just send you some stuff to package it in and repair it for free.

I know this because i was lucky enough for it to happen to me outside any warranty and had to pay £60 to get it repaired

i got it from a video store here, and microsoft sent me the UPS postage details to send it off to get free repairs, but my parents are pissed that the shop wont replace it because it is under warantee so im gna giv em a ring again 2moro and basicly demand they do coz im not waiting 3 weeks on Xbox repairs

I thought you had bought it from somewhere like Game or something or a big chain store group. They would just hand you another one within 5 mins

Well mine died about a month ago. I was under the impression that 3 red lights indicated a general hardware failure. The problem with my situation was that the guy I bought it from previously registered it I guess, so they would only honour the 3 year warrenty with him and not me. Bastards wanted like $110 from me to fix it. I just ended up contacted the guy who sold it to me and got him to deal with it.

The funny thing is that the xbox was made back in 2006, so the plastic on the harddrive is a different colour grey than the rest of the unit lol

^correct the 3 red lights or "red lights of death" is a general hardware failure, generally dealing with the upscaling chipset or the gpu. the single red light on the bottom right hand of the ring signals a "specific hardware failure" usually followed by an error code

My 360 just died recently after I picked up GTA4. I hadnt had problems at all before this. I got to play the game for maybe 1 hour it kept locking up and eventually I got the red ring of death

The replacement process is actually pretty smooth, considering these systems really shouldnt have these issues in the 1st place. Just go to the microsoft site register and fill out that you got the red ring of death and they will send you all the packaging and cover the shipping. Also it is pretty quick, my system was back in just a little over a week.
