Looks like you'll get an awesome peice of hardware running buggy software that eventually you'll have to down(up)grade back to XP.

Overall, I prefer XP, but I think the hatred for Vista is over the top. The 4 problems I had with Vista when I first started mostly turned out to be more benefits of Vista than disadvantages (I couldn't get this program to work and it turned out that in XP, you installed the drivers from the CD, but Vista automatically installs the drivers for you and if you try to install the drivers from the CD that double-installs the drivers. So I uninstalled the software, reinstalled the software but not the drivers, and it worked better than it had ever worked in XP). ![]() I'm not a "fan," but I'm not a hater either by any means. |

Naren quick question, would that excellent compatibility ability be the case even in the 64 bit version of Vista? I'd like to install XP64 or Vista 64 because certain programs like Sonar see nice performance increases, but I don't want to have a million conflicts either.

I'm only relatively familiar with the version I have - Windows Vista Home Basic and I have no idea whether mine is 32 bit or 64 bit because it came with my PC. I've only had it for about 3 months now. ![]() True, but it sometimes didn't work that well. On my last PC I tried running a game I own with the "Windows 95" and "256 colors" thing selected and it still had all the colors bleeding through in weird shades of green. On Vista, it appeared that same thing before I changed the compatibility, but appeared exactly how it had for me in 96-97 when I changed it to "Win 95" and "256 colors." ![]() And it seems to have more options on that menu. which is buggier than all of georgias swamps. im with naren.
id put a bit more into the proc dude. you spent bucks on faster lower latency ram, but its going to bottleneck at the proc. repeat with some raid 1/5/10 hdd works. all in all nice ass setup though ![]()
