Vista SP1 is a piece of crap, no performance boost whatsoever, only application compatibility.

I've been using SP3 since I did my reinstall. Works great.

I've even seen some benchmarks, and it appears SP3 does offer some performance increases over SP1. My system is stable and rock solid with it.

The memory addressing is a combination of how Windows can load up memory and also the 32 bit limit of addressing memory.

I tried installing it but when I reboot my computer it acts like the system is booting up but then before it goes to the user login screen/desktop it turns off and reboots again...?

Running perfectly fine on a nicely tweaked Windows XP install on my Thinkpad.

I may have to back it out. Right now, about 45 seconds after I see the login-screen, there's a flurry of constant disk access for about four minutes. I don't know if this is just first thing in the morning, or if it occurs at other times of the day too. I have no idea what it's doing, and since this is a laptop, that not good for the battery life.

T-61 ThinkPad that was new in February.
