Pcmcia card vs. usb 2.0
Which is typically faster for getting audio into a laptop, pcmcia card or usb 2.0? Just curious, as I have both available.

You should not worry about speed as both ways will provide more than enough bandwidth for audio transfers. I can almost guarantee that any PCMCIA, USB, or Firewire device, is designed with the limits of these specifications in mind. As far as I'm concerned, either USB 2.0 or Firewire is the way to go. With PCMCIA you are generally limited laptops, whereas the other two should work with just about any machine.
The Line6 PodXT uses a USB 1.0 connection, which is limited to 12 Mbit/s compared to USB 2.0's 480 Mbit/s, and I can say that it works absolutely great for recording and general sound-card use through USB.
Don't tell me what I can't do.

Thank you Thomas. I have used both successfully, but was curious if one might be faster than the other. I would have tested them, but, I'm at work right now and won't have time to test once I get home.
