I've just realized, I like the 3g black and white iPods over all of the newer models.

Observe:

(not mine)

-Badass red buttons
-scrolling that never EVER skipped, it was always smooth
-button layout was easier IMO, I really don't like the whole 'quad button' thing they have going now...
-I wouldn't want to watch movies on a 2.5" screen anyway.

(I just broke my iPod 5g - and I'm contemplating getting one of these off the bay for less than $100, sounds good to me)

Your preference?

I have the old 4g mini and my battery is completely fubar. I need to pony up the 20$ for a replacement battery. 4 gigs holds a lot of songs

Nah... I don't think so. I just recently bought a 40gig Ipod Photo for 120 off the bay, and still have over halfway to go in the process of filling it.
