Seems with the database crash my new computer thread got deleted (along with my cross-over cable thread). Never even got to read any of the new posts.

Well, I never could get the sound card to work, so I went to the shop today and "nicely" bitched at a guy there. He was nice and we worked out a PC that was the exact specs as the one I got except by a different company and had an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33 Ghz CPU (instead of the 2.2 on the one I got yesterday) and Windows Vista (instead of XP), but didn't have a 3D graphics card in it, so I got him to put a GeForce 8500 in it. And the overall price is the same as the one I bought yesterday. The guys from the shop will come to my apartment Sunday morning to pick up the PC I bought yesterday and exchange it with the PC I arranged today (the dude assured me he'd have the 3D graphics card installed by then).

So, I guess that turned out alright. My new PC specs are: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33 Ghz CPU (dual core), 350GB hard drive, 2GB of RAM, DVD-RW/R burner drive, Windows Vista Home, GeForce 8500, and most likely a sound card by a respectable company and not the crap I got yesterday ( They never give the sound card info on the PC specs sheet).

Yay.
Just gotta wait till Sunday, I guess. Well, I'm gonna box up this PC now. Just finished uninstalling all the video aps that I had installed yesterday.

Normally you have to pay for them to deliver the PC to your house, but since I just bought the PC yesterday and the sound card was broken ("no audio" is a pretty big deal), the guy really didn't think twice about it. Every time he started to say something that treated me like a normal customer looking for a new PC for the first time, I'd say something that reminded him that I had to carry a heavy PC and monitor home last night and then waste 6 hours of my time on something that didn't work and he went back to being super nice and apologized for it. He really was a pretty nice guy overall. Just sometimes he'd forget where I was coming from.

Glad it all got sorted out quickly, though.
