Got a new video card on the way.
I'm worried about it getting hot though, since it doesn't have a built-in fan. I would have gotten a card with one, but my tower doesn't have room for it. Do you guys have any recommendations for me to try and cool the thing down?

^ those are so inefficient Chris.

Amir, graphics cards without a fan usually really on the airflow that exists/should somewhat exist in the case. If you are worried - get one with a fan. I have had these fanless ones start displaying artifacts after like 4+ hours of gaming and my tower was a wind tunnel.

id say splurge a bit more and get an 8600... its a lot better than the 8500... and you can find some without the fan... but i dont know how it wouldnt fit cos the 8600 is a 1 slot card....and the same length as an 8500...

how small is your case?

I just got the card today actually, so ordering another card instead is not an option. The tower is relatively normal in size, but I can't have a huge card because it'll block the next PCI slot down.

Mesh, you said your card started messing up on you after only 4 hours?!

Blexi, I'd just do a RMA on it and tell them your pc is freezing up constantly or something that would deal with the video card as a problem and get one that has a Fan on it. My FX5700 Ultra's fan took a crap, ordered a Zalman fan and it's good to go now.

Yeah it was one of those quiet and cool ASUS geforce 7800GTs. It originally was really nice - but quite frankly I noticed via the Nvidia software that it would hit its top temp quite regularly. I was running a 23" widescreen at WUXGA+ (gaming and rendering in autocad) and so I just returned it to newegg.
