Are you using a HDMI to DVI converter into your TV? or is the input actually HDMI on the Sony Bravia?

As long as the bits make it from point A to point B intact, any wire should do fine. Would you spend more money on a "premium" Ethernet or USB cable?

Personally, I wouldn't spend more than $10-15 bucks on a digital signal cables. The signal is either ON or OFF so all the fancy talk some manufacturers put into their $50+ cables is kinda bull. Popular Science did a side by side comparison of a $150 montser HDMI cable, a $300 cable (Brand I cannot remember) that had a chip in it to 'balance signal yadda yadda' and a $5 cable the got offline. Noone could tell the difference between any of them.

As far as cables are concerned, as long as they're made with oxygen free copper, and are shielded, I'm not falling for the high-priced hype.

Bam: Newegg.com - Galaxy METAL GEAR GX-CB13 BLACK 6 ft. HDMI Cable V1.3 Male to Male - Audio Video Cables There's a gold plated one. $13

I had trouble finding a 10ft USB cable that was under $35 at all the major retail stores. All I wanted to do was hook my printer up, not turn lead into gold.

$5 from newegg got me a new cable and my printer works just fine. Charging $50 for a cable that costs them $5 is just price gouging.

You shake your ass but you're already dead.

the moral of the story is to make sure whatever cable you choose is shielded. also if you have douchebag cats or roomates, monster will continuously replace broken cables for you no questions asked i think.

Engineer never turned up.

It's a normal HDMI cable, going from the V+ box to one of the HDMI inputs in the back of the TV. After some reading I've discovered that I'll need the remote to save the settings with the red 'text' button, and also it could be a HDCP issue, but I'll have to wait and see since I really need the remote. Virgin's customer service is atrocious.
