Woohoo. Gaming Madness. Got a 360.
So I haven't been online for about a week and a half (don't know if anyone noticed. "Thank God that Naren dude isn't here!"
) because I was on vacation with my best friend from the US who came to visit me. Since I had gotten some monetary presents from relatives, I went out and bought the Xbox 360 Value pack last Tuesday (which included Forza 2: Motorsport and Viva Pinata - neither of which have I even inserted into the system's drive). I also bought BioShock, Lost Odyssey, and Half Life 2: The Orange Box (which hasn't been delivered yet, unfortunately).I just beat BioShock yesterday. Awesome game. And I'm near the beginning of Lost Odyssey. ![]() For anyone who wants to add me, my gamer profile is EvilIncorporatd (same as my PS3 user ID, which is EvilIncorporated with the "e" in there). New gear = awesomeness. Especially since I bought an HDMI cable for it, so I can play both my PS3 and Xbox 360 in 1080p. ![]() |

I missed you, Eric!
![]() I'll probably be getting a PS3 early next month (unless my dad surprises me and gives me loads of money before christmas, which I doubt). I'm not too interested in the 360 right now, though I'll probably get one in a few years when they've sorted out the reliability issues and the price is lower.

![]() Mine was pretty cheap because the 360 isn't doing very well in the Japanese market. Got it for about $315 with a bunch of extras such as 2 games (as well as a bunch of Arcade games on the harddrive), a 20GB hard drive, a remote control, 1 month Gold membership to Xbox Live, wireless controller, and all that kinda junk. 2008 looks to be a great year for the PS3. A ton of awesome games coming out (and there already are quite a few amazing ones out there). I just rented a few PS3 games from my company's library before going on vacation and my friend was laughing that I was playing them even just 2 days after I had bought my 360. I said, "I wanna beat this one before I start a new game." My one Japanese colleague was like, "You got a 360? Then why did you buy your PS3? ... Are you thinking of selling it now?" He comes from a strictly one-console mindset. I explained to him that I got the 360 because there are a bunch of 360 exclusives that I really want to play and if I had bought the 360 first, I would have eventually both the PS3 as well. Most of my American colleagues understand the concept very well. ![]() Anyway, I'm really satisfied with my 360. Hopefully I won't get the red ring of death. (read that there is an estimated 30% failure rate on 360s, which doesn't make me super confident about it. And considering that my best friend got the red ring of death twice on two seperate 360s... fortunately Microsoft replaced both of them for him free of charge). |

If I lived in Japan I'd probably get a 360 too.
I'd actually get everything. The prices in Europe are crazy compared to... well pretty much anywhere else. ![]() |

The PS3 prices here are cheaper than they are in the US or Europe, but we don't have the insanely huge PS3 harddrives the US has available. Of course, I've heard that you can just use a normal external harddrive, but I've never tried it before, so I wouldn't know. Because the 360 isn't doing well in Japan, they advertise the Xbox 360 core system as being cheaper than the Wii (because it includes a game) and the Microsoft representative was recently emphasizing that lots of good Japanese games are coming out in the future (since a lot of Japanese complain that the 360 is nothing but American games). Good for me, I guess.
![]() The Wii is pretty cheap, but there aren't enough games I want for it to convince me to buy it. If I married my girlfriend, I'd probably have a Wii, since she wants one and said "Why didn't you get a Wii?" when I got the PS3 and she'll probably say the same thing when she comes over and sees the 360. (I was hanging out with her yesterday, but I didn't tell her I bought one) |

Nice one, man. I'm glad you're enjoying it. I've got one heading my way for Christmas along with Halo 3 and Oblivion GOTY (I owned the original Oblivion for the pc but my graphics card died and I haven't got round to replacing it with another one that can handle Oblv).
I can't wait to get addicted to Oblivion again. Favourite. Game. Ever. When I finish Uni I'll be living on my own so more bandwidth for me, Xbox live here I comes!

Oblivion is my second favorite game ever, right behind Morrowind (the Elder Scrolls III, Oblivion having been the Elder Scrolls IV). |
