500GB SATA-2 drives w/slick enclosure (Newegg)

Just got this in, via a combo deal at Newegg:

This drive:
Newegg.com - Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 (Perpendicular Recording) ST3500630AS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

With this enclosure:
Newegg.com - Rosewill RX-358 RX-358-S SLV Full Aluminum Cover, metal tray 3.5" USB 2.0 & eSATA External Enclosure - Retail

For $150. 500GB SATA-2, with USB and eSata cables. 3GBPS transfer, and the enclosures look totally awesome and have an independent fan switch.

I might just have to order those!! Thx.

Do I need an eSATA card? Or can I just plug the drive into the enclosure and use USB 2.0 to the PC?

If you don't have an eSATA port, you can get this:

Newegg.com - MASSCOOL PCI Card, 1 external eSATA + 2 internal SATA Model XWT-RC061 - Retail

For $17. The drive does USB2 as well, but if you're going to go all out, may as well go the extra way. USB2 is about !480Mb/s if I remember correctly, while S2 is 3Gb/s.

Do they make any aftermarket computer components WITHOUT flashing LED's?

If I put another piece on this thing with an LED in it, I think I'm going to need some kind of permit.

We aren't talking about your "intimate piercings" dude, we're talking about hard drives.

eSATA is nice because it's just a glorified SATA cable which means no bullshit

Please, Kevan. Blinkie lights = tone. I even know that.
