Smile Recommend me a decent external hard drive!

I need something for backing up my files and storing all that crap I have lying around (recording takes way too much space ). Must be at least 200-250GB, somewhat affordable and reliable. I'll gladly pay a little more for better quality. Firewire or USB.

fathead is a jewel in the rough
I bought an Iomega black triple interface like six months ago and that worked out really well on Firewire 800. At the time they had the best reviews and software. Will soon need another one and I'm leaning toward the Seagate Freeagent Pro because of features but I'm still researching the reliability end of things.

Buy an enclosure and a drive and build it yourself. Save a few bucks and you'll be set. I have 2 drives like this they work 100%

The mad dog brand of enclosures are really nice. Then you can swap out HD's at will..

I've got an Iomega and it works great, the WD ones are supposed to be awesome as well

as for building it yourself, this one is supposed to be better than sliced bread: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817145657
