I remember the damnable Counterstrike all too well. If you still can't jump back into matches immediately I won't be playing this one either.

Having to sit out the match after getting killed really kept me from getting into this game. I don't have that kind of time to waste (never have really).

I played the original CS (before CS online and source) Very unforgiving. It included the wall and speed hackers.

I'm gonna love the Molotov Cocktail addition (BURN, BABY, BURN)

I played counterstrike source for a few months to see if i could actually kill people in it.

Turns out i can't. I'd get headshotted everywhere. Like to ridiculous levels. I got owned so bad i uninstalled the game for years.

Back in college I spent ridiculous amounts of time playing CS, I was a BEAST.

I'm pretty good at the tactical stuff and the death + waiting to spawn just encourages people to NOT be MW-style noobs and run out into the open firing like crazy as that's what gets you killed. I typically move forward but let the dummies run out in front and get mowed down so the rest of us can play the match the way it should be played!

See, i understood this change of tactics but no matter what i did i got shot in the head.

Like i'd peek round corners and people would be jumping and shooting me in the face with a pistol/sniper/AR immediatly.

I found it MUCH more frustrating that cod. Although i chalked most of the rage up to my apparently lack of knowledge of the maps and the fact the people i was playing were really ....ing good.

I used to be one of those guys.

I could jump and immediately upon landing nail a headshot with an AWP. It was awesome.

AWP usually gets shit for being an "unfair" weapon for killing with only 1 shot. But then, if you don't have the skills to use it, you won't kill shit and plus, you'll get poor soon. So then it's up to the player. I personally hate the AWP. I do like the scout and the semi-auto snipers though. But I do love to rape people with the pump action 12 gauge hahah

I've heard this before. I've tried 1.6 many times, but I just can't get into it. This could be due to the fact that the only people that still play 1.6 are the really experienced players. When I was still trying to learn the basics, they would rape my face.

I played CS when it was still a mod for Half-Life, probably one of the few games that I still have strong nostalgia for (as it was a very novel idea when it came out)

Aaaahhh countless hours and tons of money wasted at cyber-cafes playing LAN with other people. That game is tits. I still have it installed, but I spent so many years without playing that I just ....ing suck at it now. I have to play with BOT players like the n00b I am

Also: Holy shit I want this game. NAO. I like the fact that it puts you to play with people of your same level. I hated to play online because I didn't get the chance to shoot once

Huge Source fan, haven't played much lately cause of school work guitar and poker but I wanna start back up again.

Love 1.6 too but I like the community of Source more. CS is one of those games with no noob tubes, no ....ing perks, no killstreak unfair bullshit: pure balance, and that's why I love it. You have NO-ONE to blame but yourself (or your team

) if you lose. GO looks like something I probably won't get into as it's drastically different but I'll probably give it the ol college try.

Well, it's an integral part of the gametype, so I doubt that's going away.

I used to play on a paid team when I was younger in CAL before it went downside up (good old xfire days). I've been getting back into things lately in anticipation for this game and have joined a different clan. I don't intend on getting back into things competitively though, it's no longer fun at that point and honestly it was more stressful than anything.
