Recommend me a good FPS

Half-Life 2 (although it takes a while to get the sniper rifle). Quake 4 perhaps. Battlefield 2 is a good one as well. I hope you have a kickass video card though

I thought HL2 fucking sucked.

I ranted about it before, the parts where you drive that rediculous buggy and waterboat are just asinine. I tossed on godmode to get through them and it still took me half an hour.

I have an X800XT, my system's pretty pimp.

Wow, I've never heard a negative opinion of HL2 before. Interesting. I loved it personally. It wasn't buggy to me. The game ran pretty smoothly for me. I do have a GeForce 7800 GT though. Maybe some ATI cards had some issues with it, shrug.

I didn't like HL2 either. I didn't hate it as much as Chris, but I didn't like it.

I can only recommend old FPS's since I haven't played any new ones for the last 1-2 years. I'd recommend Unreal Tournament (the 1999 original, I really didn't like the 2004 one) and Quake 2 (1997, I think). But, if you only want a new one, I have no recommendations.

lol, dude those were good games, but come on man... he wants something modern with sniper rifles and awesome graphics. quake 2 doesnt have sniper rifles and it looks like ass now.

Try Battlefield 2 Chris, that seems to be more up your alley.

Older game, but Operation Flashpoint was pretty good albeit much slower paced than most of the other games people have recommended. It's tough as shit to see the enemy soldiers until you get used to the camoflauge though.

Quake 4 is the best single player FPS i've played recently...and you also can't beat Soldier of Fortune 2 hehe!

Battlefield 2 is quite fun, and the sniper rifles are awesome, and you can unlock even pimpier rifles ie. one that can shoot through bullet proof glass on planes, choppers and trucks.

BF2 is great, but the single player is absolute bollocks lol. It's just 16 player versions of the MP maps with bots. Don't get me wrong, It is a brilliant game, but I definitely wouldn't buy it for the single player alone.
